Reno Hotels Near Boreal
Reno hotels are about the same in drive time to Boreal at nearly the exact cost as the Foothills Motel, but put you hours further from home, and you will need to drive over the pass to get home (which might require chains or sometimes be closed).

For the hard charger, check this one out. You can get three days of snowboarding or skiing at Boreal Mountain in two days, but you’ll have to work for it. Drive to the Foothills Motel after work (or leave work early) and check-in, then launch to hit Boreal that evening. The slopes are open until 8pm! Come back to the Foothills for a good sleep, and launch to Boreal again in the morning and get a full day in. Return again to the Foothills for a deep rest and hit the slopes again in the morning, then head all the way home. You might need a coffee or Redbull for the drive home as you will have had a FULL weekend of fun!
